Milpitas Guitar Lessons

Your First 3 Months

Learning guitar doesn’t feel like a straight line. But it has a pretty predictable shape, and knowing the shape ahead of time makes a big difference. Here’s what the first 90 days usually look like:

Weeks 1 to 2
Your fingertips will be sore. Totally normal. They toughen up faster than you’d think.

Weeks 3 to 6
You’ll know where your fingers go, but switching between chords will feel slow and clumsy. Everyone hits this. It’s your hands catching up to your brain.

Months 2 to 3
This is the tricky stretch. You’re working hard, and it might feel like nothing’s changing. It is changing. Progress just gets quieter here before it gets louder.

Around Month 3
Things start connecting. Chord changes smooth out, songs start sounding like songs, and you’ll look back at week 1 and realize how far you’ve come.

If you hit a week where it feels like you’re not getting better, come back to this page and check where you are on the map. Odds are you’re right on schedule.

Two things help more than anything else:
1. Keep showing up, even on weeks you didn’t practice much. Missing a lesson costs way more momentum than a light practice week.
2. Tell me when it’s frustrating. That’s useful information, not complaining, and I can adjust what we’re working on.

See you at your first lesson!
